You may be wondering what is the point of entering awards? Why set yourself up to be disheartened if you don’t win? Well there are many reason’s why entering awards is not only good for your business but also good for you. The main reason to enter awards is the recognition you receive on not only winning an award, but also for being nominated or becoming a finalist. Its realising that someone believes you do an exceptional job, provide an outstanding service and wants to show you that what you have provided for them is top class and that you deserved to be recognised for your effort and hard work.

5 things you should ask when getting VA business insurance

5 things you should ask when getting va business insurance
So, you’ve decided to protect your VA business with some professional insurance. Good decision. Now it’s just a matter of deciding what you need and what you don’t. That might be easier said than done because FCA rules say direct insurers can’t give you advice – even about their own insurance. Or at least, not without seeking extensive training first. And their permission. Most independent brokers have more leeway, however, so you might be better off going to one of those and asking lots of questions. At least then you’ll know you’ll have a) got the right insurance and b) probably saved money.

Should a VA sign a clients contract?

should a va sign a clients contract
As an independent business owner, it is your job to provide a contract (your ts and cs) and set out the basis on which you do business. However, when it comes to clients giving you access to personal data they have collected about their prospects, customers, team or suppliers it is their job as a data controller to give you written instructions in the form of a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) telling you (the data processor) what you may do with information they share with you, why, and how to secure it and use it.

Can Kirmada Reduce a Virtual Assistant’s Overwhelm?

18th December 2024

Kirmada were a sponsor of the UK VA Conference 2024 and I have invited Adam and Rik to write guest blog posts for the wider VA community to share about their product, the productivity tool Kirmada. This is the first in that series from Adam. Working closely with virtual assistants means we hear the issues which plague them. Cash flows, overwhelming to-do lists, missed time recording, team management, and more, are all at the forefront of their responsibilities. And this is before they’ve actually done any client work. And while VA’s pride themselves in being able to reduce their clients’ workloads and stress, the VA themselves often end up feeling overwhelmed.
