Relationships are the lifeblood of your business. Without them, you have no customers and no business. It is crucial that you continue building these connections throughout the year. You cannot afford to let your network go cold just because the sun is out.
Here is how you can successfully continue building relationships during the summer period and beyond.
Do not stop marketing just because the children are home. Contrary to what you may believe, the whole of Europe does not close for the summer. While many entrepreneurs take holidays, they are still open for business.
You must have a plan to carry you through. Ideally, this means automating and scheduling the bulk of your marketing content before the holidays kick in. This frees you up to enjoy the summer. While you still need a balance of ad hoc posts to keep things current, having the automated side covered allows you to focus on sharing the fun, personal updates as they happen without the pressure of constant content creation.
Networking is a prime opportunity to build relationships, forge friendships, and establish new contacts. It also gets you out from behind your desk. Finding a group in your area is straightforward if you are proactive.
Conduct an online search for events in your area using platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, MeetUp, or Eventbrite. Do not forget to ask your existing contacts for recommendations. Find out which groups they attend and offer to go as their guest. Use this time to step away from the screen and engage in real conversation.
Developing a business is about more than pushing products and services. People need to know who they are interacting with if you want to build a genuine relationship. While you need to understand your ideal client, they also need to understand you.
Share insights about who you are, what you stand for, and what you believe in. Building relationships is not always about the immediate sale. It is about being honest and authentic about the person behind the business. What makes you unique? What connects you with your potential clients on a human level? Share those insights into your life and family.
Building relationships takes time and it does not stop for the summer holidays. By staying visible and authentic, you ensure your business remains at the forefront of your clients’ minds. If you want to master the art of client attraction and professional networking, the VA Momentum Course provides the exact tools you need to grow your reach.
Marketing and building relationships are essential for success. Why not share your tips in the comments below and help your fellow VAs make this summer a success?
