7 places to share your blog post once it’s been written

19th September 2025

Blogging is far more than just writing for the sake of it; it’s a powerful and essential strategy for any modern business. At its core, a blog acts as the central hub for your content, helping you build trust and authority with your audience by consistently providing them with valuable, helpful information. This regular flow of fresh, relevant content not only positions you as an expert in your field but also gives you a significant boost in search engine rankings, helping potential clients find you more easily. Each blog post is a new opportunity to attract organic traffic, generate leads, and create a strong foundation for all your other marketing efforts, from social media to email newsletters.

7 places to share your blog post

1. Share it with your email list

Email marketing remains one of the most effective and direct ways to connect with your audience. Don’t assume your subscribers will just find your new post on their own. Instead, make it easy for them. You can send out a simple “new post alert” email as soon as the blog goes live, or you can create a weekly or bi-weekly newsletter that curates a few of your latest posts. This keeps your business top-of-mind and provides consistent value to your audience.

2. Make the most of social media

Social media isn’t just one channel; it’s an ecosystem of opportunities. Each platform has its own unique audience and best practices, so tailor your approach for each one.

  • Facebook: Share your blog post on your business page with a captivating image and a compelling question to spark conversation. Don’t forget to share it on your personal profile too, as this can reach a different network of people who already know and trust you.

  • LinkedIn: This is the ideal platform for professional content. You can either share a link to your post with a short, insightful summary or, even better, use the “Write Article” feature to republish a version of your post directly on the platform. Wait a few days for Google to index your original post first, and be sure to add a note at the end that the article was first published on your website. This is a powerful way to tap into LinkedIn’s professional network and build your authority.

  • Instagram and Pinterest: These are highly visual platforms, so you’ll need to create engaging graphics. For Instagram, design a square or vertical image with a catchy title or key takeaway, and direct people to the link in your bio or use an in-story sticker. On Pinterest, create multiple “pins” for a single blog post. Think of Pinterest as a visual search engine and include relevant keywords and hashtags in your pin descriptions to help people find your content.

3. Repurpose your content into new formats

A blog post is just the beginning. The content within it can be transformed into countless other formats to reach a wider audience. This is a strategic way to make the most of your time and effort. For example, you could:

  • Turn key points into a short video for TikTok or Instagram Reels.

  • Create an infographic with data and statistics from your post to share on LinkedIn or Pinterest.

  • Record a short-form podcast episode discussing the topic.

  • Design a series of carousels for Instagram that break down the post’s key ideas.

4. Engage in online communities

Facebook Groups, LinkedIn Groups, and other online forums are perfect for connecting with people who share your interests. Before you start sharing links, be sure to engage genuinely with the community. When a topic comes up that your blog post can help with, offer the link as a valuable resource (check the group’s rules first, as some don’t allow link sharing). This positions you as an expert and helps you build trust, which is far more effective than just dropping links.

5. Go beyond your own channels with guest posting

Guest posting on other blogs is an excellent way to tap into an existing, relevant audience. Find a blog in your niche that complements your business and pitch a unique article. While the article itself won’t be on your site, it will include a link back to your blog or website, sending qualified traffic your way. This is a highly effective way to gain credibility and exposure.

6. Boost your best posts with paid ads

If a blog post is performing well organically, consider giving it a boost with a small advertising budget. Platforms like Facebook and Instagram allow you to promote a post to a very specific audience based on demographics, interests, and even behaviors. This can drive a flood of new, targeted traffic to your site and get your most valuable content in front of your ideal clients.

7. Leverage tools for automation

The process of sharing and repurposing content can feel overwhelming, but there are tools to help. Look for social media schedulers that allow you to plan your content in advance, or services like Missinglettr that can automatically create social media campaigns for your new blog posts, scheduling them to be shared over weeks or even months. This ensures your content stays active and visible long after its initial publication date.
