How to Get Your VA Business Back on Track and Finish 2026 Strong

7th June 2026

how to get your va business back on track and finish the year strong

Let us be honest. We are almost halfway through 2026 and there is a good chance that where you are right now is not quite where you thought you would be when January rolled around.

Maybe work has been inconsistent. Maybe you have lost a client or two. Maybe you started the year with real momentum and then life happened and things drifted. Or maybe business is actually going well, but you have lost sight of what you were originally aiming for and you are just reacting rather than moving forward with purpose.

Whatever camp you are in, the same truth applies: the year is not over. Not even close. You still have two full quarters ahead of you, and a lot can change in six months when you are focused and intentional.

Here is how to get clear, get back on track, and finish 2026 in a way you are actually proud of.

Start by getting clear on your vision again

Before you look at your to-do list or your goals spreadsheet, ask yourself a more fundamental question: what would make this year feel like a success?

Not what you think you should achieve. Not what looks impressive. What would genuinely feel like a win for you and your business by the time December arrives?

If you have lost touch with that, try one of these.

Write a letter to your future self. Describe where you want to be by the end of the year. What does your client list look like? How does your working week feel? What have you achieved that you are proud of? This exercise has a habit of surfacing goals and ambitions you have not consciously acknowledged, and that clarity is worth more than any action plan you could write.

Alternatively, write a letter from your future self back to you now. What advice would the version of you who has already had a brilliant second half of 2026 give to the version of you reading this today? What would she tell you to stop overthinking and just do?

If writing is not your thing, spend some time visualising it. Picture the end result. Think about how you want to feel when you get there. The specifics matter less than connecting with the sense of what success looks and feels like, because that is what keeps you going when things get difficult.

Check in with your mindset before you check in with your metrics

This might sound counterintuitive, but before you look at any numbers, pay attention to what you are telling yourself about where things stand.

If you have been running a quiet narrative that says clients are not hiring right now, or that it is too late to turn this year around, or that everyone else seems to be doing better than you, that story is doing more damage than any slow month ever could.

The VA market in 2026 is active. Businesses are outsourcing. People are hiring. The demand for skilled, professional VAs has not gone away. If your pipeline is quiet, that is a marketing and visibility problem, not a market problem, and those are things you can fix.

Find the evidence that contradicts the unhelpful story. Look for the VAs who are signing clients. Look at the enquiries that are coming in, even the ones that did not convert. Look at the feedback your existing clients give you. Build the case for possibility rather than resignation.

Review your goals honestly

Pull out whatever you set at the start of the year and look at it properly. Not to beat yourself up about what has not happened yet, but to make an honest assessment of where you are and what is still achievable.

Some goals will still be entirely within reach. Some may need adjusting in light of how the year has actually gone. And some you might decide no longer reflect what you actually want. All of that is fine.

What is not fine is abandoning your goals altogether just because Q1 and Q2 did not go to plan. Adjust where you need to, but do not walk away from the ambition.

Get visible again

If you have gone quiet on your marketing, this is your prompt to change that. Consistency is everything when it comes to attracting clients, and the VAs who show up regularly, share their knowledge, and stay visible are the ones who get the enquiries.

You do not need to be everywhere. You need to be somewhere, consistently, with something useful to say. Pick your channels, commit to a realistic plan, and get back out there.

If your messaging has felt uncertain or off, revisit it. Make sure what you are saying speaks directly to your ideal client’s current reality. The world in 2026 is not the same as it was a few years ago. If your marketing sounds dated, it will feel dated to the people reading it.

Stick to the plan

Once you have reconnected with your vision, adjusted your goals, and sorted your head out, the rest comes down to consistency. Track your progress. Do the work. Show up even when you do not feel like it, because the VAs who build sustainable businesses are not the ones who only market themselves when they feel motivated. They are the ones who treat it like the professional commitment it is.

Two quarters is a significant amount of time. Use it well.

Get the support around you to make it happen

If you want a proper reset and a focused day to work on your business rather than just in it, come and join us for one of our VA Mastermind Quarterly Days. These are dedicated days designed to help you get clear, make decisions, and leave with an actual plan rather than just good intentions. You will be in a room with other serious VAs who are committed to building businesses that work, and that kind of focused, collaborative environment has a way of shifting things that no amount of solo planning ever quite manages. We share the links to the next days in the VA Training Academy shop.

Not sure you want to come and spend the day with us, that’s ok, you still do not have to figure this out on your own. The VA Membership gives you the training, the tools, and the community to help you build momentum and keep it. From marketing support to accountability, it is designed for exactly the kind of focused second-half push you need right now.

Or if you want to talk through where you are and what the best next step looks like for you specifically, book a call and let us have that conversation and I would love to share which options might work best for you.

The year is not over. Not even slightly.
