The success of your VA business depends entirely on your ability to inspire belief in what you do and who you are. This credibility is the cornerstone of your brand. People only do business with those they know, like, and trust.
You must be authentic. Potential clients have a high BS detector and will notice immediately if your personality is at odds with your words. The faster you establish genuine credibility, the faster your business will grow. But how do you build that reputation when you are just starting out?
Here are five direct actions to boost your credibility and build your VA business, regardless of your current stage.
Networking gets you in front of business owners. It is not just about handing out cards. It is about understanding their pain points and expanding your circle of potential clients and referral partners. Stop hiding behind your screen and start building real world connections.
Whether you publish an ebook on Amazon or create a high value PDF guide for your website, having your name on a piece of expert content is an instant credibility booster. It proves you know your subject and positions you as an expert in your niche rather than just another person for hire.
Interviews in any format—video, audio, or written—raise your profile. If you are still building your confidence, start with podcasts or local radio slots. Always ensure you get a copy of the recording or a link to showcase on your own website. Being the “expert guest” carries significant weight.
There is no shortage of platforms looking for quality content. Find websites that cater to your target market. Do not waste time blogging for sites that have no connection to your ideal client. Pitch a solid, useful idea and get your name in front of someone else’s audience.
Note: Here at VACT, I am always open to guest blogs that provide genuine value to our VA community.
Many VAs avoid speaking because they think it is reserved for “big” businesses. This is nonsense. Everyone starts somewhere. Whether it is a local Chamber of Commerce meeting or a small workshop at a library, speaking allows you to demonstrate your authority, authenticity, and confidence instantly.
Regardless of which tactic you choose, always close with a clear call to action. Do not leave people hanging. Direct them to sign up for your newsletter, connect on social media, or visit your website. Every interaction is an opportunity to strengthen the relationship you have just started.
Are you struggling to find the confidence to put yourself out there? Book a discovery call with me today to see if my membership or coaching is a good fit to help you build the authority your business deserves.
