Where do I find networking for my VA business

Networking is a non-negotiable part of growing a successful VA business. It isn’t just about hunting for your next client; it is about raising your profile, making business friends, and connecting with other VAs to build a reliable associate team.

However, “networking” can feel like a vague, daunting task if you don’t know where to go. You don’t need to attend every coffee morning in a fifty-mile radius. You just need to find the right groups. Here is how to find the networking circles that actually move the needle.

Check Online Event Hubs

Start with the low-hanging fruit. Sites like Eventbrite and MeetUp are goldmines for local business meetups. You can filter by location and topic, allowing you to find groups where your ideal clients actually hang out. Don’t just look for “VA groups”, look for “Small Business Owner” or “Entrepreneur” events.

Leverage Social Media & The “Help Desk”

Social media is a massive event directory if you know where to look.

• The VA Help Desk: This is one of the best Facebook groups for Virtual Assistants. Don’t be afraid to jump in and ask for recommendations. Other VAs are often happy to share where they’ve had the most success.

• LinkedIn Search: Use the search bar for “Business Networking [Your City]” and filter by ‘Events’ or ‘Groups’.

• Ask Your Circle: Post on your personal and professional profiles asking for recommendations. People who already trust you will be happy to point you in the right direction—and it subtly reminds them that you’re open for business.

Use AI to Do the Legwork

If you are feeling overwhelmed, use AI (like Gemini) as your personal research assistant. You can prompt it with something like: “Give me a list of the top 5 business networking events for Virtual Assistants in [Your City] for the next three months, including links to their registration pages.” This saves you hours of manual searching and gives you a direct list of links to explore.

The Power of the UK VA Conference

If you want to immerse yourself in the industry, there is no better place than the UK VA Conference. Usually held in October (with this year’s event set for 16th October 2026), it is the premier event for VAs across the country. Attending a dedicated conference allows you to learn from industry leaders, discover the latest tech, and meet hundreds of fellow VAs in person. It is a massive confidence booster and a fantastic way to transition from feeling like a “solo” worker to being part of a professional movement.

Hunt in Industry Publications

Trade publications are an often-overlooked resource. If you want to find out where the high-level professionals are, look at Executive Support Magazine or VA Pro Mag. These publications often list exhibitions and conferences that are perfect for networking.

Join a Dedicated VA Community

If you want to network with people who truly “get” the daily life of a Virtual Assistant, come and join us in the VA Membership. You’ll become part of an active, positive community where we don’t just “chat”—we accelerate.

The VA Membership is the UK’s only VA business accelerator designed to help you create recurring revenue through consistent action. With over 100 hours of courses, weekly co-working sessions, and group coaching, it is the ultimate space to network while you grow.

Networking is essential, but it doesn’t have to be scary. Find one or two groups, show up consistently, and watch your business transform.
