7 reasons why you shouldn’t take the VA Momentum Course

If you are looking for a “pink and fluffy” guide to starting a business, you have come to the wrong place. I am a straight talker, a military veteran, and I believe in servant leadership. At the VA Training Academy, we do not do “easy” – we do “effective.”

We have recently rebranded our flagship training. What was previously known as the VA Mastery Course is now the VA Momentum Course. The name has changed to reflect what the course actually delivers: the momentum required to build a sustainable, professional business from the ground up.

However, just because it is an award-winning course doesn’t mean it is right for you. I am a firm believer in the right fit. Sometimes, you are simply not the right fit for the course.

1. You are looking to be an employee

The VA Momentum Course is designed to help you build your own business. Running a business requires you to be a self-starter with a proactive attitude. If you prefer the safety of a guaranteed monthly payslip, fixed hours, and someone else making the hard decisions, you should not take this course. We train business owners, not staff.

2. You are unwilling to invest in yourself

Building a business takes more than just a good idea. It requires an investment of time, energy, and money. While I often recommend “bootstrapping” (only buying what you truly need), you cannot build a professional house on a sand foundation. If you aren’t willing to invest in your own development or the basic tools of your trade, this path isn’t for you.

3. You want a “business in a box”

If you are looking for a course that just tells you exactly what to do at every second, look elsewhere. I provide a proven method and the essential foundations, but I will not tell you who to work with or what your brand should look like. This is your business, not a franchise. You have to do the thinking.

4. You only want to be a VA, not a business owner

To be a successful Virtual Assistant, you must first be a successful business owner. This involves marketing, networking, and getting visible. If you have no interest in the “business” side of things and just want to do the tasks, this course will frustrate you.

5. You are looking for a “get rich quick” scheme

There is no such thing. Running a business takes grit. You can achieve incredible success, but it will not happen overnight. If your top priority is a quick buck rather than building a solid, long-term reputation, VACT is not the right fit for you.

6. You don’t want personalised feedback

The VA Momentum Course is a hands-on study option. I provide direct feedback on your modules to ensure you are meeting the professional standards the industry expects. If you aren’t interested in being challenged or receiving honest, direct critiques to help you improve, you will find our approach too intense.

7. You have no interest in collaboration or community

The VA industry is built on collaboration, not competition. Being part of a community means networking and building relationships that benefit your clients and your peers. If you prefer to work in a vacuum and have no interest in supporting others, you might want to reconsider this career path entirely.
