There are many definitions of marketing but it is essentially about understanding your clients or potential clients: identifying what it is they want and keeping them satisfied. It is about creating awareness of what you provide and the benefits of your service.  It is about raising the awareness of your brand and what it represents.  It is about continuing to keep your profile raised in the business world.  We will cover benefits of marketing as we progress through this module.

When you say marketing, people immediately think selling and I totally understand that for a lot of Virtual Assistants they are not comfortable with the analogy of selling but hey, let me tell you a secret here – “unless you market your VA business and sell the benefits of working with you (and your team) then you will not be very successful!”  Sorry to break it to you like that but you need to fulfill all roles within your business and that means marketing!
