A newsletter is a really powerful marketing tool, it’s a brilliant way of keeping in touch with your client base or list. This is a great opportunity to build a relationship with your list…like, know and trust comes into this.
The purpose of a regular newsletter is to provide outstanding value to your subscribers, not just repeated offers that do little but line your own pocketbook.
Give readers a reason to look forward to your email, so they open it with anticipation every time it shows up in their inbox, and you’ll soon see your own ROI improving.
There are many definitions of marketing but it is essentially about understanding your clients or potential clients: identifying what it is they want and keeping them satisfied. It is about creating awareness of what you provide and the benefits of your service. It is about raising the awareness of your brand and what it represents. It is about continuing to keep your profile raised in the business world. We will cover benefits of marketing as we progress through this module.
When you say marketing, people immediately think selling and I totally understand that for a lot of Virtual Assistants they are not comfortable with the analogy of selling but hey, let me tell you a secret here – “unless you market your VA business and sell the benefits of working with you (and your team) then you will not be very successful!” Sorry to break it to you like that but you need to fulfill all roles within your business and that means marketing!
A Case Study is often thought to be similar to a Testimonial but in fact a Case Study gives you the opportunity to show the real story behind supporting a client. Through real life scenarios (cases) you get the opportunity to showcase the difference you make.
These have the power to really enhance your VA business.
You are probably wondering if you will need a blog? Short answer – YES!
What is a Blog?
A blog is a marketing tool that allows you to get more online visibility generally through the written word.
Every time you write a blog post, it’s one more indexed page on your website, which means it’s one more opportunity for you to show up in search engines and drive traffic to your website in organic search.
Blogging is a lead generation tool – and also helps you get discovered via social media. Every time you write a blog post, you’re creating content that people can share on social networks — Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+ which helps expose your business to a new audience that may not know you yet.
So blogging helps you to drive new traffic to your website.
Here you are looking at your marketing tactics i.e. how you communicate with potential clients, how you will communicate to create awareness of what you do, to your client avatar specifically, how you work and how your services benefits them specifically.
This is where you will communicate a very important point, which is, that you are able to demonstrate to them the ways in which you can satisfy their business needs, solve their problems and challenges which they have, how you will help them achieve their goals and how you will benefit their business – as stated in the previous sub module.
